Creating the Representation We’ve Been Missing
Born from research with people who stutter, co-written and co-produced by stuttering researcher Geneviève Lamoureux, and featuring an original score by stuttering musician Luke Wyland, We Are the Audience is performed entirely by non-professional actors who stutter. The film offers a rare cinematic moment: a group of people who stutter, gathered in front of and behind the camera, to reimagine how they wish to be seen.
More than a call for better representation, this is proof of what becomes possible when communities take the mic and the camera.
